09 - Scientific Knowledge Acquisition, Based on an Electronic Knowledge-Book (Ioana Suciu)

Our work is situated in the field of university to industry knowledge transfer. We have developed a methodology for the scientific knowledge handling consisting of four steps: (1) acquisition, (2) representation, (3) implementation and (4) transfer to the industrialists. The acquisition integrates knowledge collection, modeling and structuring regarding a scientific format, using the Ask support.
The representation is based on a canonical concept map, an influences graph format and a predefined knowledge sheet format. Knowledge acquired and represented is implemented in an electronic knowledge book.
Two books dedicated to the conception of a satiety biscuit and the exploitation of wood- based recovered products were implemented and tested following three criteria: user’s cognitive load, disorientation, and knowledge comprehension degree while using the knowledge book.
